Hi everyone. I'm looking for input on wallets, and in particular, the Empriente wallets. (Disclaimer: I have read through some threads on Empriente bags, and most posts say the leather is durable and easy to wipe down, but most discussion was about bags, and I know wallets sometimes have different issues.) I'm going to pick up another wallet this coming Tuesday, and a search on the LV website only narrowed things down so far. Currently I only have the black multicolor ZCP with Grenade interior, and had been thinking of getting something a little different. I'm pretty much down to: Insolite in mono, Emilie in mono, or something in Empriente. As for the Insolite: the small I know would be too small, but the big just seems too big (at least based on perusing the website). For one thing, my MC ZCP holds everything I need, so the large Insolite feels a little like overkill. And I think I also tend to use smaller than typical bags, simply because that's what I like, and the large Insolite might even be too large to fit comfortably inside many of those bags. ..... On the up-side, I do love the easy zipped entry, and the various lining colors. It certainly does appear to hold a lot. For the Emilie: I love that blue interior; it would certainly hold everything I need; and would not be too gigantic. The problem there, however, is that I've read so much about "flap type" wallets cracking where the flap "bends" (eg. various threads on Sarah problems) ... or even the canvas layers splitting at that same spot (eg. boyoverboard's Brazza, which had that type of split). I admit I've read boyoverboard's "zip vs no zip" thread ( Wallets: zip vs. no zip ) multiple times, and while I love the idea of something "different" from my usual, this whole flap thing is worrying me more than zippers. (LV zippers do seem sturdy, and I know not to overstuff. I do try to be careful and watchful.) And the other thing that worries me is the idea of the snap wearing out (which i've also read on other threads discussing snap wallets). (Sigh, maybe I'm just being too paranoid.) Then I saw the Empriente, and dare I say, "Be still my heart." But I can't find much posted about any potential problems with Empriente wallets. The bag threads say the leather is durable, but are there any unique issues with the wallets? (I'm thinking of the smaller zipped one, which is just a little bigger than a ZCP. The large, like the large Insolite, would really just be overkill, and even too large for some of my bags.) And just for the record, I'm currently thinking orage color. Help? Thoughts? I should also say that the interior of my bag is usually a pretty safe place for wallets. I mean, I wear no makeup, so there's no danger from compacts, mascaras, or lipsticks or anything. I also never carry handlotion (and rarely use it anyway), nor do I carry food/candies/gum, and nor do I carry any bottles of hand sanitizer (I only carry a few of santizer wipes in those foil-sealed-individual-packets, inside a wristlet). So the inside of my bag is usually a very clean and "safe" place. ..... The only danger would be to Bernis, because there are too many times that I end up shoving a receipt or paper down into my bag, which wouldn't be removed until evening, and I don't want to worry about color transfer onto Vernis -- so I've decided to simply avoid Vernis SLGs. Your Galliera of course is so gorgy. But you can still get the Eva too hehehe....I'm getting excited now! I have been so indecisive about what bag to get next and now it looks like the Eva will be in my hands soon.
